The idea
Scheduling tools are either bare-bones — a calendar link — or bloated CRMs that happen to book. Appointira's bet is a scheduling platform that feels genuinely complete: polished public booking pages, real multi-provider team management, and payment taken at the moment of booking, without the enterprise weight.
The problem
Small service businesses lose bookings to friction: email back-and-forth to find a time, no-shows because nothing was paid up front, and a booking page that looks like a form from 2010. Running more than one provider usually means duct-taping two calendars together.
How I approached it
I scoped the smallest version that would still feel complete — one beautiful booking flow, provider management, Stripe at checkout — and cut everything else: integrations, a site builder, a mobile app. Then AI built the booking engine, availability logic, payment flow, and dashboard to my spec. My job was the product judgment: what “good” looks like on a booking page, how availability conflicts resolve, and where to stop.
What shipped
A live product at appointira.com: public booking pages with real-time availability, multi-provider scheduling, Stripe payments and deposits at booking, confirmation and reminder emails, and an owner dashboard. Positioned as “Bookings on autopilot. Revenue on demand.”
What I'd do next
Instrument the funnel from booking-page view to confirmed booking to find the real drop-off, add the two integrations owners ask for first (Google Calendar, then video), and pressure-test whether the AI insights actually change owner behavior or just demo well.
